The Inn at Brierley Hill is located just 2 miles from the heart of historic downtown Lexington, Virginia, less than a five-minute drive. The inn sits on 8 acres with beautiful mountain views while remaining close to shops, restaurants, Washington and Lee University, VMI, and other local attractions.
Inn at Brierley Hill office hours are 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM daily. After-hours emergency service is available for inn-related issues. For emergencies, call 911. For after-hours assistance, call (540) 470-2061.
Check-in time is any time after 4pm. If your room is available for early check in you will receive a text to the number you used for your reservation. Checkout time is by 11am. This allows us time to prepare for the next guest in a timely manner.
You will receive a code to your room and instructions by email the day of check in. Your breakfast menu will be in your room so that you can make your selections.
Reservations can be made online through the inn’s website booking system or by calling (540) 464-8421. When booking online, you’ll need to provide a valid credit card. A one-night deposit plus taxes is required at the time of booking. For gift certificate redemptions, call the inn directly to avoid credit card charges.
A two-night or three-night minimum stay is required on weekends (Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday), holidays, or during special events. One-night stays are accommodated when available. Please call the inn directly for assistance with one-night bookings.
The Inn at Brierley Hill accepts Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express. A one-night deposit plus taxes is required at the time of booking. The inn also accepts Inn at Brierley Hill gift certificates, which must be redeemed by calling the inn directly.
Rates are based on double occupancy and vary by room type and season. An extra person charge of $95 per person applies. All rates include complimentary gourmet breakfast and are subject to state and lodging taxes. Please visit the booking page or call (540) 464-8421 for current rates.
Cancellations made at least 7 days in advance receive a full refund minus a 10% handling fee, or can be fully exchanged (100%) for a gift certificate. Cancellations made 6 days or less are refunded only if the room is re-booked for another guest, minus a 10% handling fee. Any nights not re-booked are non-refundable. Reservations made on Booking.com are non-refundable. All cancellations must be made by phone.
The Inn at Brierley Hill does not offer refunds for early check-outs. The full reservation amount remains due regardless of early departure.
Yes, Inn at Brierley Hill offers gift certificates that can be purchased online or by phone. Gift certificates can only be used for Inn at Brierley Hill accommodations and cannot be exchanged for cash or refunded to a credit card. To redeem a gift certificate, call (540) 464-8421 to make your reservation.
All rooms include: complimentary made-to-order breakfast, free parking, 43-inch smart flat-screen TV, complimentary Wi-Fi, Comphy bath robes and luxurious linens, LATHER natural skin care bath amenities, DreamCloud mattresses, iron and ironing board, hair dryer, private bathroom with shower or tub/shower combination, gas and/or electric fireplace, and comfortable sitting areas. Yes, all rates include a complimentary gourmet made-to-order breakfast served between 8:00 AM and 9:30 AM daily. The menu features an ever-changing mix of fruit plates, house-made granola, and sweet and savory dishes. Breakfast is served in the cozy dining room overlooking the Shenandoah Valley with locally roasted coffee, teas, and a selection of juices. Please inform the innkeepers of any dietary restrictions in advance.

Pets are permitted only in the Lexington Cottage for a $95 non-refundable pet fee per pet per night. Only dogs are accepted (maximum 2 dogs per cottage, 45 lbs weight limit per dog). Service animals are welcome at any time without the pet fee. Pets must be leashed outdoors, cannot be left unattended unless crated, and are not permitted in the main building or other cottages.
The Inn at Brierley Hill is primarily a romantic retreat for couples. However, children over the age of 10 are permitted in certain rooms. Please call the innkeeper to inquire about availability for families with children.
No, the Inn at Brierley Hill property is completely smoke-free, including vaping, tobacco, and cannabis. This applies to all rooms, decks, and anywhere on the property. Guests who smoke will be charged a minimum cleaning and damage fee of $250.
The Inn at Brierley Hill property is for registered guests only. Visitors must register with the innkeeper on duty and must depart the property no later than 7:00 PM to maintain a peaceful atmosphere for all guests.
The Lexington Cottage is ADA compliant and reserved for guests with disabilities. It features a private entrance, jetted tub with separate shower, private balcony, and accommodates up to 4 guests with a king bed and sleeper sofa.
We are a romantic retreat for couples but we do make some exceptions for children older than 10 in certain rooms. Please call the innkeeper for availability.

No however we have several options within a short drive and some guests enjoy the quick but ambitious walk down the 1/4 mile driveway and Borden Rd is safe for walking and jogging, as it is often used by the students from W&L and VMI.
Not at this time- The blue ridge cottage does offer a private hot tub on the deck and Lexington Cottage and Shenandoah Suite offer a jetted tub in room.

You are welcome to bring your own items- a small common use fridge is located in the upstairs sitting area. Blue Ridge Cottage offers a full fridge in the room. Lexington Cottage and Shenandoah both offer a small fridge in room. We also have a selection of Beer, Wine, Champagne and Premixed cocktails available for purchase
