About Brierley Hill Bed and Breakfast

A Shenandoah Valley Bed and Breakfast in Lexington, Virginia
Brierley Hill Bed and Breakfast was built in 1993 as a quiet Shenandoah Valley haven for the weary traveler, or a romantic getaway from the workaday world. Named for the antique clock that graces the entryway, this lovely Lexington, Virginia Inn is the epitome of laid-back luxury and Southern grace.

About the Innkeepers

We both have a degree in Hotel Management and met in June 1991 at the Dorint Hotel in Bitburg, Germany. We traveled the world and worked in different hotels in the UK, US and Europe. We have always dreamed about owning a Bed and Breakfast.
We settled in a small village in northern Germany where we got married and had 2 girls - Janine and Julia. Volker discovered a new hobby and became a Volunteer Fire Fighter at the local Fire Department. In 2013 we decided to move to Cape Coral, FL, opened a Property Management Company and served tourists from all over the world while they were visiting the Gulf side of Florida. Barbara joined the Volunteer Police Unit in Cape Coral for over 5 years and she also is an author for German novels. 2 days after the Brierley Hill B&B hit the for sale market we drove up to Virginia, saw it, fell in love and are now the Innkeepers of this wonderful place. We would love to meet you and show you how beautiful this gem is - come and see us

About our Security Department

Charley - Assistant Innkeeper and former Head of Security
I used to be in charge of the Security Department but got fired. My boss says I am too nice and too cute for that job. How can I be too nice - I just love everybody, how wrong can that be ? Anyway, they hired some call center ladies from ADT instead - no sympathy from my side.
You won't see me in guest areas as I am no longer allowed there but if you like I am always available for some petting outside.
Nature Abounds in the Virginia Shenandoah Valley
Being on the outskirts of the Shenandoah Valley, nature is ever-present at our country inn. You will likely see deer crossing the lower fields in the early morning and enjoy the antics of the mockingbirds. Perhaps the foxes will make an appearance during your stay. If you visit between April and October, our hummingbirds will delight you. They flit in and out of the verandah posts, dipping into the feeders and chasing one another around and around.

Songbirds are everywhere — a portion of the front field is left wild to encourage them, and feeders by the garden keep them coming back. The chipmunks also like the feeders; they steal the sunflower seeds and plant them in the garden for our enjoyment in late summer.

Southern Hospitality: Lexington B&B Style
Afternoon beverages and cookies on the verandah are a special summer treat. Refreshments are always available from the hutch in the sitting room on the second floor. To help you stay connected with friends and loved ones, we offer free Wi-Fi throughout the Inn.
